1. Banner Ads – these ads will appear as a semi-transparent overlay at the bottom of the Facebook Reel.
2. Sticker Ads – these ads will appear as a static image ad that can be placed anywhere within the Reel by the creator.
Seeing that this is the early stage of Facebook Reels overlay ads and monetization, a lot is still up in the air and is dependent on how these tests go. The test will provide important feedback on the success of overlay ads on Facebook Reels, which will also improve the value of the ads for creators all over the world.
Since Facebook has recently invested $1 billion in creators, they are creating a plethora of ways for creators to earn money for their content. Creators can also earn money for Reels with the Reels Play bonus program. This program allows eligible creators to earn up to $35,000/month based on the number of views they receive on Reels that qualify for the program. Facebook’s main goal is to allow creators to earn a substantial income and b build sustainable businesses on Facebook through engaging content creation.
